House Rep. Victoria Spartz Introduces House Bill 10526 to Rename Muncie Post Office After Cpl. Blake Reynolds

MUNCIE, Ind. (The CI) - On September 21, 2026, House Rep. Victoria Spartz (R, IN-05) reportedly introduced legislation to rename a Muncie post office after Cpl. Blake Reynolds, according to a press release from the representative.
Reportedly, Reynolds was helping a broken-down semi truck when his patrol vehicle was hit at the 247 mile marker.
“At the time of collision, [Reynolds] was outside his vehicle and was struck during the impact,” a press release from the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, reposted by the City of Muncie, says. “Multiple agencies responded immediately, and life-saving measures were attempted at the scene. Despite every effort, Corporal Reynolds succumbed to his injuries.”
“Blake lived as a hero through selfless service, offering his life day by day to the people he was called to protect,” Spartz wrote in her press release. “His faith, compassion, and commitment to serving others left a lasting impact on our community. I am grateful to my Indiana colleagues for joining me in honoring his life and ensuring his legacy of service will not be forgotten.”
The introduced bill seeks to rename the post office at 501 West Memorial Drive in Muncie, at the corner of Memorial and South Cherry Street, the Officer Blake A. Reynolds Post Office Building.
Congress.gov states the bill, HR 10526, has been shown in the House of Representatives. The bill has now been referred to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
